Tax Analyst II – Tax Engine Process Improvement
We are looking for a smart, passionate Sr. Tax Analyst to join and support our growing Global Tax Calculation Services team. The Global Tax Calculation Services Program is comprised of tax professionals and software engineers that are responsible for providing end-to-end global transaction tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) to Amazon and thousands of other merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce platforms.
This individual will support the tax product classification process, collecting inputs for technical enhancements, providing business requirements for projects scoped within Tax Engine Platform and closely cooperating with technical team and data scientists. Individual in this role will need to balance technical and business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices. As a Sr. Tax Analyst on the Global Tax Calculation Services Team, you will have an opportunity to develop original ideas, approaches, and solutions in a competitive and ever changing business climate.
Responsibilities
· Evaluating new business initiatives to determine if/what enhancements need to be made to the tax calculation services platform
· Creating and automating business and reporting processes to support our day to day operations and projects
· Cooperating with Taxonomy and Research team, ensuring the system alignment with the tax rules (e.g. product taxability)
· Participate in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
· Contributing to Metrics Platform project
· Assisting in designing tools and services supporting the product tax classification function
· Actively participate in selected projects throughout their life-cycle
