Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Development of protection systems within budget limits
  • Efficient preparation of technical specifications for components and systems, technical evaluation of bids and joint selection of suppliers
  • Responsible for the timely ordering of his/her systems
  • Leading discussions and technical meetings with the client and other sub-suppliers
  • Dealing with Distribution Network Operators in regard to protection overlapping and interfaces
  • Supervision of suppliers throughout the whole project implementation phase (including documentation):
• If necessary, carrying out pre-inspection meeting or kick-off (with PPM)
• Checking the documentation of suppliers (design documents, engineering documents, interface specifications, information on construction)
• Review and approval of the Q-plans and incorporating customer requirements into QMS
• Performing or arranging factory tests
• Quality control on construction site and arranging assembly inspections
• Preparing/defending of claims with technical project manager
•Monitoring removal of non-conformities by suppliers
  • Cross-system interface coordination with the technical project management and third parties, in particular clarifying the interfaces with other lots
  • Active collaboration with the plant design (installation of components, pipe routing) and electrical and control supervisor
  • Regulatory compliance with respect to the lot he/she is in charge of
  • Close cooperation and exchange of experience (feedback from project) with product managers
  • Taking care of the assigned subject areas as product manager
  • Training and technical support for internal employees

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Degree in Technical Science - Electrical Systems

Personality requirements and skills

  • Excellent product knowledge of devices used in MV and LV electrical systems
  • Proven skills in engineering of MV and LV switchgears, distribution transformers, MCCs, UPS, VFDs
  • Experience in integration to a superior control system with focus on different interface protocols (e.g. IEC 61850, Profibus, Profinet)
  • High degree of autonomy in the management/development of different (sometimes complex) systems
  • Good knowledge of project work with different project disciplines
  • Experience of cooperation with and evaluation of suppliers
  • Persuades counterpart, even in controversial discussions
  • Can clarify routine ambiguities through factual discussions
  • Uses experience when applying standard methods, in order to solve challenging problems
  • Chooses solutions and provides these to relevant interface partner
  • Takes decisions independently and in a timely manner within predetermined limits
  • Good cost awareness
  • High degree of understanding of quality assurance
  • Knowledge of CAE Tools (Comos etc.)
