Job description, responsibilities and duties
The accountant role reports through to the Austrian Finance Manager (who is in turn reporting directly through to the Austrian Country Manager). The role is primarily one of data management & control as cash volumes are significant. The role is a supporting role to the Finance Manager, with responsibilities from sub ledger posting to control and reconciliation. There are some reporting responsibilities internally, externally and through to group finance in London.
Your responsibilities are:
Control:
Maintenance of all physical financial records and related systems entries
Ensuring invoices are received, approved and posted
Control, approval, filing & reconciliation of the Petty Cash receipts
Managing the Tax Refund revenues and credit control
Reporting:
Assisting in the preparation of the weekly financial reports to Country Manager
Supporting credit control for Western Union Network in Austria
Controlling Tax Free companies to ensure they are returning funds in a timely manner
Payments:
Creating Payment requests for overheads
Reconciliation and preparation of Western Union payments
Arranging funds transfers across locations as required
Audit and Statutory:
Support the audit and related activities
Sub Ledger Maintenance:
Posting of Money Transfer and Money Exchange Interfaces into Navision daily
Reconciliation of the subagents Settlement / Activity Report
Reconciliation of Sub Agent bank transfers to and from subagents
Maintenance of Western Union Sub Agent ledgers
Month End:
Support balance sheet reconciliations
Posting of all necessary journals to account for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets
Group Finance:
Gathering and reporting of Airport Statistics
Liaising with the Group Finance team to resolve variety of queries
Reporting through on time to Group Finance.
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant – min. 3 years of experience, preferred on Austrian market
Excellent English and German
additional languages from CEE (Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Rumania, Bulgarian) not mandatory but highly welcome
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office product experience
Experience in Navision
