Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Actuarial Hub of the UNIQA Insurance Group is looking for support in the NL Actuarial Department. The focus of activities will be on tasks related to Pricing in the lines of business Motor and Property

Therefore our young and dynamic team is looking for support in various areas of responsibilities from an ambitious and service-oriented mathematician.

You can look forward to an on-the-job training at the UNIQA Group head office in Vienna with a focus on your future tasks and responsibilities. Additionally UNIQA offers the possibility for personal development in your area of expertise for the years to come.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Data preparation and data management for the business units, using SAS
• Involvement in all aspects of pricing: data preparation, risk modelling, profit testing, forecasting and monitoring of results
• Supporting foreign subsidiaries in pricing related tasks
• Use of professional pricing software for risk modelling and portfolio analysis.
• Preparation and visualization of results.
• Independent setup up of actuarial analysis for products, tariffs, portfolio and claims
• Cooperation with product development, underwriting and IT during implementation of new tariff models

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Educational Specialization

Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Physics

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Tertiary education in science such as (insurance) mathematics, physics, IT, statistics, or economics with a strong focus on quantitative methods.
• a first experience with tasks related to insurance, for example through workshops at university, internships, etc.
• a first experience with programming languages and applications, for example SAS or R.
• a genuine interest in insurance and the way its products are priced
• Independent, structured working methods and flexibility
• Team player, readiness for continuing education
• Readiness to work on group wide projects
• International mindset

Favorable skills:
