Quality Control Chemist

Main Purpose of the Job

Carrying out analysis on products arriving at Biosynth & writing analytical reports. The role is also involved in the method development and method validation for the routine company products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement an analytical testing strategy to support the delivery of projects
  • Carry out of analytical methods: HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV, KF, NMR, Titration, Polarimeter, Melting Point
  • Analysis of experimental data and generation of fit for purpose reports
  • Anticipate and solve analytical problems
  • Work and collaborate with Line Managers, the QC Manager and colleagues
  • Write and review reports for analytical work carried out
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, SOPs and policies
  • Work closely with team members, to deliver an excellent level of safe, high quality service
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in quality and safety
  • Work according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements

              

Candidate Requirements

  • Certified specialist to BSc to PhD. in a chemistry discipline
  • Self-motivated, well organized, good time management and planning skills
  • Able to work within a team, communicating confidently both in writing and orally, often under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Keen to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of English language
  • Ability to take on decision making and have good computer literacy
