Join LEAF Academy as a History and Comparative Government & Politics Educator - This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative institution as a History and Government & Politics educator with a focus on Central Europe. If you have experience in curriculum development and academic writing, we’d love to hear from you.
Bring Central European History to Life - Guide students (ages 15-16) through an engaging exploration of history, from the Habsburg era to the present day. In Year 3, students can deepen their understanding by taking AP European History or AP Comparative Government and Politics.
Inspire Critical Thinkers & Informed Citizens - Our approach goes beyond memorization—we focus on developing analytical skills, encouraging students to ask meaningful questions, and connecting historical events to modern-day issues.
Innovative & Student-Centered Teaching - We embrace a collaborative learning community, using visible thinking techniques and adaptable teaching methods that cater to different learning styles. Your creativity and passion will help foster intellectual curiosity.
Competency-Based Learning with Real-World Impact Students track their individual growth through competency-based assessments, reflect on their learning, and connect historical perspectives to real-life situations—preparing them for engaged global citizenship.
Besides the above-mentioned responsibilities assume:
- Advisory role - responsible for a small group of students, conducting regular weekly meetings, and providing support and mentoring to students when necessary.
- Residential duties (upon agreement): regular weekday duties in the dormitory.
- Co-curriculars, sports, or a committee member (expected): being part of the co-curricular program, e.g., offering a club, supervising a sports activity, or being an active member of one of the LEAF Academy committees.
