Established in 1972 and employing 1,000 people worldwide, Argon Medical Devices has grown dramatically over the past few years from the acquisition of the BD’s Critical Care products to the licensing of innovative technologies, to the expansion of our manufacturing, sales and distribution footprint following the acquisition of our latest Interventional business. Argon is now a larger and stronger Interventional player than any time in its past.

We are looking for an Area Manager preferable located in Eastern Europe. The main responsibility will be to maintain and develop our distributor network in the Eastern European and Russian market. You will be reporting to the EMEA management and be co-working with a European team of 20 colleagues. However, with the extensive travel activity you will mostly be working alone. The role will involve responsibility for driving the EMEA Eastern European and Russian sales activities. Working closely with the distributors and thereby provide support to customers and negotiate, manage and support company contracts with distributors. Generally, do the outmost to promote, develop and grow the area of responsibility of our Interventional and Vascular medical devices products. The primarily responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage agreements and terms between Argon and distributors
  • In conjunction with the Management, set strategy for distributors, including definition and prioritization of business opportunities,
  • Set and update annual pricing for distributors
  • Negotiate and agree annual sales targets with distributors
  • Monitoring of sales process of local distributors in the assigned markets
  • Develop and manage relationships in the name of Argon with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Gather and update market intelligence from distributors or own source
  • Ensure distributors comply with distribution contract terms, especially minimum purchase, keeping of safety stocks and payment terms.
  • Ensure quarterly 12-months rolling forecasts from distributors
  • Conduct fast track trainings for distributor sales force
  • Support Management with sales projections and forecasting processes.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role, preferably gained in the Interventional devices market. An extremely self-motivated individual with business acumen and a sound communicator. The successful candidate will have excellent negotiation and presentation skills and be highly organised with effective time management skills. Selling personality is a must. Relevant sales experience and education from medical or science background is desirable; fluency in English is required. Fluency in other European languages as well as Russian is an advantage. Good knowledge and experience with the use of Microsoft Office and Word, Excel and Power-point are essential.
