Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to handle our client's procurement activities.

The Purchasing Manager's responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies,
• Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks,
• Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc,
• Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation,
• Sourcing new suppliers and building up continues improvement, striving for continuous costs reductions.
• Coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities,
• Managing the maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery,
• Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs,
• Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications,
• Lead and support individual purchasing teams,
• Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets,
• Working to improve purchasing systems and processes,
• Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

Personality requirements and skills

To be successful as a Purchasing Manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding Purchasing Manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

Required experience:
• At least 7 years' experience in a similar job, within procurement, purchasing from the environment of international companies,
• Overall experience of at least 10 years,
• Purchasing processes and costs management,


Education, knowledge:

- University of Technology or Economics,
- Corresponding technical knowledge in respective material portfolio, technical drawings and similar,
- General economic overview and basic economic knowledge,
- Knowledge of business contractual legislation and policies,
- Active and fluent knowledge of English with orientation on negotiation,
- Experienced in Microsoft Office, ERP system like SAP, Helios etc.,
- Driving license,
- Experiences in production.
