Job description, responsibilities and duties
Provides tier 2 guidance to network operation and maintenance analysts, technicians, and/or engineers. Performs technical analysis of complex software, hardware, and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations. Provides direction for engineering efforts and test and evaluation programs.
This position has the overall responsibility for the router configuration analysis, database integrity, router maintenance as well as customer application testing.
The individual is responsible for, but not limited to, technical data validation, equipment list, IP addressing, router configuration, assessment, technical evaluation, technical troubleshooting, problem solving and application test and maintenance of the customers' LAN applications.
As a Tier 2 he/she will provide guidance to complex trouble issues, becoming a focal point for the chronic problems. Will be a focal point for PTTs, ISA, GCSC and customers on critical issues. Will provide guidance, training and assistance to Tier 1 teams.

IP and Data Routing Technology and Policies
- Network design,

- IP Subnetting,
- TCP/IP protocol,(BGP, OSFP, RIP, MPLS, and EIGRP)
- Security:
o NAT Configuration, Proxy Server, and Firewalls.
- Data communications;
o OCX, T3, fractional T3, T1s and fractional T1, E1 and Fractional E1, DSL, ATM, Frame Relay, Voice Over-IP, Ethernet.
- Hardware
o Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers and switches configuration
- Soft Skills:
o Strong Communications, Interpersonal, project management and Facilitation Skills, customer relationship training.
o Working knowledge of PTT's and PTT infrastructure; i.e., SDH, PDH, microwave, DACS
Bachelors degree from a technical school plus a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience at the Technical Associate level or equivalent experience.
Fluency in English is mandatory. Any additional language skills is a plus.
Working time: Office hours Mo to Fri. Candidate must be available to possibly work on shifts, including weekends and holidays.
