Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are currently looking for a SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGNER IN LV AND HV for CERN European Council for Nuclear Research (France).
Main responsibilities:
• Lead Electrical designer for large electrical design projects such as but not limited to the design of:
o Low and high voltage distribution networks;
o Lighting and safety lighting systems for buildings and external areas;
o Low voltage DC, UPS and safety network distribution systems;
o Design of Earthing networks;
• Create and update design drawings using AutoCAD;
• Create cabling schedules and installation drawings;
• Update equipment information into CERN databases;
• Verify that designs are fully compliant with industry standards, safety rules, quality requirements and general CERN requirements

Requirements
Holder of a master’s university degree in electrical engineering, followed by at least eight years of experience in electrical engineering and at least 5 years in the design of low voltage distribution systems.
Able to make the preliminary and final execution drawings with the assistance of qualified designers in a complete, rational and economic way in accordance with the general instructions of the engineers in charge and the users or according to a technical dossier.
Supervises and checks the work of the designers and support staff he is responsible for.
Shall have expert proficiency in AutoCAD, elecalc and DIALux software as well as good knowledge of the standards in use for the electrical low voltage distribution.
