Job description, responsibilities and duties
Bogie Mechanical Design Engineer is a key member of the team. In this role, you will be tasked with addressing design problems across a whole range of components, associated with a bogie. You will report to the project engineer and interface with all members of the project team in order to progress components from initial concept through to manufacture, assembly, commissioning and final track testing.
All components are managed through a program of internal design reviews. As the Bogie Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be expected to manage the components for which you are responsible through this program and address any issued arising.
Your Tasks
- You will be performing project teamwork activities
- You will act as an interface with the design staff and specialist staff
- You will be responsible with design reviews and reporting and you will prioritise the activities accoring to the team necessities
- You will liaise with suppliers
- You will be responsible to come up with startegies to resolve technical and customer facing issues

Language skills
English - Intermediate (B1) or German - Intermediate (B1)
Personality requirements and skills
- You will have a good understanding of mechanical science and a grounding in mechanical design and manufacture, preferably backed by a degree in a relevant field.
- You will be able to work with internal and external customers / suppliers at all levels.
- An appreciation of railway engineering is seen as an advantage
- You are working excellently with the Microsoft Office pack, especially with MS Excel and MS Access.
- You are determined and creative, with a mind set on solving problems and building relations.
- You are open to demonstrate lessons learn and analyze how they influence the day-to-day tasks.
- You have a strong work ethic and are proficient in English or Germany
- You will be able to work with internal and external customers / suppliers at all levels.
