Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Support the continuous improvement of the bid and production management processes and implement initiatives to reduce vehicle repair/overhaul costs and improve product safety, quality and reliability.
- Create and maintain user friendly manufacturing documentation, Labour estimates, Work Record Books, Work Instructions etc, for the project team.
- Create and maintain in conjunction with the Supply Chain Management team, accurate detailed manufacturing Bill of Materials during the life of the project.
- Evaluate customer specification documents from a technical perspective to determine our ability to comply, submitting a compliance report in the form of a clause by clause document.
- Identify and obtain all relevant project technical supporting documentation, maintaining the technical library and issuing controlled copies to the shop floor as required.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Intermediate (B1) or German - Intermediate (B1)

Personality requirements and skills

- Possess previous experience of working within a Heavy Engineering/maintenance environment.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the railway industry, its products and applications.
- Strong personal communication and presentation skills.
- Possess a high level of commitment and ability to work on his/her own initiative and to tight deadlines, whilst demonstrating a flexible approach, particularly in relation to working hours and location.
- Have strong Computer skills ideally Microsoft Excel, Access Project, Vision and PAD's and SAP for materials monument.
