Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our client’s cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with the data engineering team to ensure seamless data operations and drive our DataOps initiatives. Your expertise in Terraform and Azure will be crucial in building and managing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Azure.

  • Collaborate with data engineers to support DataOps processes and ensure efficient data lifecycle management.

  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and security.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.

  • Implement and manage network configurations, including firewall rules and security policies.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.


WHAT WILL MAKE US HAPPY


  • Extensive experience with Terraform and Azure (5+ years).

  • Strong understanding of the data lifecycle and experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.

  • Proficiency in Linux.

  • Strong understanding of network configurations, firewall rules, and security policies.

  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes.

  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English; knowledge of German (e.g. B2) is a plus.


NICE TO HAVE 


  • Experience with other Cloud providers.

  • Basic knowledge of Databricks.
