Job description, responsibilities and duties

Within the HR Services Team of the Human Resources Division, the HR Analyst (HR Services) will provide support on all matters relating to HR administrative activities, in an international and multi-cultural environment involving scientists, engineers and administrative staff.

DUTIES

· Providing support in the implementation of Staff Rules and Staff Instructions, with a focus on calculation and payment of benefits, especially in the areas of travel and allowances, such as education allowance, as well as removal expenditures for staff upon appointment and separation;
· Answering customer queries and resolving issues on HR administrative matters and thereby providing excellent customer service to the organisation’s employees;
· Taking the lead for various annual administrative processes, such as Position Grading Review, Job Descriptions etc.;
· Participating in projects as required for the continuous improvement of HR administration processes and services, such as implementation of electronic personnel files and SAP/HR enhancements as well as other general HR initiatives, such as organising Employee Health Days;
· Maintain and propose improvements to the Division’s intranet presence;
· Serve as back-up for team members on other administrative tasks, such as staff contract renewals.

This post is graded B3/B4 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 3737 per month (net of internal tax) which may be negotiable based on skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

The initial contract will be of 4 years’ duration, with subsequent 5-year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of follow-up contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT.

Personality requirements and skills

· Team-player with experience in HR administration, preferably acquired within an international or multi-cultural environment and with attention to detail;
· Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation;
· Very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Access);
· Sound knowledge and hands-on experience of SAP/HR or another ERP system. SuccessFactors experience is an advantage;
· A full secondary education and ideally evidence of post-secondary level training in HR or finance;
· Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.
