We are looking for a 

Electronic Development Technician

Our institute has many years of experience in application-oriented research and development, especially in the fields of analog and digital circuit design, antenna design, firmware-, optical, transceiver development as well as software integration.
The IPMS business unit “Wireless Microsystems” (WMS) provides solutions for industrial wireless communication technologies using Li-Fi, RFID sensors and IP cores. We implement proof-of-concepts, prototypes and products in small multi-disciplinary teams together with our industrial partners and customers, who are active in various markets such as: consumer electronics, energy, factory automation, building infrastructure, life science, logistics, engineering or mobility.
We are currently looking for an Electronic Development Technician with a strong understanding of electronics, embedded hardware design, and electro-mechanical equipment to support our WMS team. Our state-of-the-art measuring technology is available to support your work on characterization of optical and high-frequency assemblies.

Responsibilities:
  • Development and simulation of discrete circuits and embedded devices
  • Transfer of circuits into printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting of electronic modules
  • Carrying out measurement with modern, high-quality equipment
Required Qualification:
  • University degree in an accredited program in Engineering, Physics, or in related fields concerning Electro-, Microsystem-, Telecommunication or high frequency technologies
  • First experiences in development of discrete circuits and the layout of PCBs
  • Strong written and oral communications skills (German and English)
  • Team player with a self-motivated and quality seeking working method

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD).
Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
The working time is 39 hours per week.
The position is initially limited for two years.
