Are you a news junky? Seeking talented writers to join an editorial team for a new, English-language online media project
Your English language skills should be proficient but your written English need not be perfect (we have editors for that). But you should have a good eye for interesting content. The contributing editors will curate important news and commentary articles that appear in the local-language media. Contributing editors should be able to identify quality content – articles that are achieving strong reach and engagement in local media. Contributing editors will, on a daily basis, select a limited number of articles — content will range from news items to commentary pieces to infographics and short videos, etc. — from local-language media to help prepare in English.

The ideal candidate(s) will:
Have 1-2 years of experience working as a reporter, editor or blogger in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia
Have a strong understanding of online media in the local language
Follow closely daily news and commentary in local-language media and social media
Have strong online media skills including experience using different content management systems (CMS) and social media
Possess a strong command of spoken and written English. (He or she does not necessarily have to write flawless English because the team will use native English editors to copy edit material.)
Requirements:
Excellent writing skills
Fluency or advanced proficiency in English
Fluency in one or more of the following languages: Czech, Hungarian, Polish or Slovak
1-2 years of experience working as a reporter, editor or blogger in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia
Proficiency using social media platforms
Proficiency in light photo editing
Advanced knowledge of CMS
Public affairs and policy experience a definite plus!
