We are looking for a leader with the drive and ambition to deliver transformative change in Slovakia.
The person will be responsible for the overall operation of the Greenpeace office in Slovakia; be in charge of the team structure, the people, the financial operations, the program planning and implementation. The position acts as the legal representative of Greenpeace in Slovakia and represents the organization in official relations with government, state institutions, political parties, media and NGOs. The role will also be responsible for compliance with the principles defined in the internal rules of Greenpeace International and Greenpeace CEE, as well as national legislation for NGOs.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on environmental protection in Slovakia.
The main scope of the role will include but not be limited to:
Represent the organization in official relations with government, state institutions, political parties and NGOs in political and administrative aspects;
Design, execute and monitor the yearly national budgets;
Lead, motivate, and manage the national staff including responsibility for individual and organizational development;
Oversee and lead all aspects of the campaign planning, monitoring and evaluation;
Participation in regionally relevant decision making processes and contributing member of the regional directors’ community;
Accountable for compliance with national legislation for NGOs;
Statutory representative of Greenpeace CEE in Slovakia (liability based on the bylaws of organization).
The role holder reports to the Regional Organizational Director and is part of the Office Directors community.

Understanding of environmental issues and Slovak political context, with an unwavering commitment to sustainability and Greenpeace’s climate and environmental justice approach;
Exceptional programme management skills and experience in management of multiple projects and tasks, risk and budget management;
Experience in non-governmental, non-profit sector, political and advocacy work are a precondition;
Ability to create clear, simple, solutions-based processes and procedures;
High level knowledge of campaigning, campaign strategy development;
Strong verbal and written communications skills in Slovak; Fluent in English;
A successful candidate must have a Slovak ID.
