Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst with a background in the Engineering or Production sector to join a supportive team of our client. 
As a Financial Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to analyze and evaluate financial data related to engineering projects and provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making. 
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and finance, to ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, and cost efficiency.  Your responsibilities will be: 
• Act as a liaison between development, production, IE, controlling, and purchasing.
• Creation of analyses and calculations of production costs according to the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA) methods.
• Responsible for implementing cost reduction projects with consideration for "design to cost & design to value" approaches.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for project stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop accurate project cost estimates and pricing strategies.
• Participate in the development of financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Assist in the evaluation of investment opportunities and provide financial analysis for business cases.
• Support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including variance analysis and performance metrics.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and pricing strategies for new projects.
• Support the implementation of cost control measures and process improvements.
• Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize supplier contracts and negotiate favorable terms.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting project costs.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1) or German - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

• Min. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Controller in the Engineering or Production sector
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
• Proficiency in financial modeling and budgeting tools
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• German language is a big advantage
• Willingness to travel occasionally, as required
