As a key member of the Liquids & Prepress Procurement Group in AFEMEA, the Buyer for Coatings & Adhesives plays a crucial role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives for Inks, Prepress, Adhesives, Coatings, and Solvents. This role is instrumental in achieving procurement excellence and meeting ambitious targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing coatings and raw materials, supporting adhesives-related sourcing activities, ensuring access to relevant market information, and contributing to the implementation of category strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage volume allocations with sites and suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
• Distribute price lists and maintain category databases.
• Continuously identify opportunities to reduce prices and costs.
• Prepare negotiations and meetings by collecting, analyzing data, and summarizing conclusions.
• Handle data for tenders and other critical procurement projects.
• Support the Category Procurement Manager (CPM) in achieving optimal outcomes during negotiations.
• Contribute to business cases, make-or-buy studies, and category-related step-change opportunities.
• Track raw materials for both adhesives and coatings categories.
• Support the CPM in implementing Cost Out activities in collaboration with local plants.
• Regularly update changes in food safety requirements in coordination with food safety teams.
• Manage purchasing tools (KMS = Claim handling tool, Artemis = Data warehouse, RebTT = Rebate tracker) and support CPM with managing GSTT = global saving tracking tool, PMT = Price movement tool, MMR monthly management report
• Provide data and support to the Group Procurement Director (GPD) on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in  Engineering or Chemistry.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in purchasing or the adhesive/coatings industry.
• Industry knowledge preferred.
• Strong analytical and commercial skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for effective data analysis.
• Procurement, finance, and risk management knowledge.
• Fluent English, additional European languages a plus.
