Description:
The Advanced Concepts Engineering group in Brno is responsible for creating new turbocharger technologies for Passenger Vehicles (PV). The group works closely with Marketing to identify future boosting technology needs, and then identifies, develops and validates new turbocharger technology to meet the future customer needs. After validating the new technology concepts, the group work closely with the Platform teams to transition the new technology into our various product offerings.

The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to conceive, design, analyze and develop cutting edge new turbocharging concepts as a member of a select team of innovators. The team structure is quite self-sufficient and utilizes multi-talented engineers who can not only design and develop a product but contribute to the group’s projects with key technical analytical skills such as aerodynamics, rotordynamics, thermo-mechanical analysis, turbocharger matching/performance simulation, turbo and engine testing, etc.

• Learn Honeywell Turbocharging Technologies engineering processes
• Develop an in-depth understanding of turbochargers and internal combustion engines.
• Be responsible for the identification, evaluation and development of new turbocharger technology:
• Establish customer CTQs and performance targets, brainstorm & identify new technologies to meet the CTQs and targets
• Plan and lead the program that validates (or invalidates) the feasibility of the project concept, including the design, analysis and optimization, prototype procurement, testing and development of the concept.
• Develop Intellectual Property capturing these new technologies as unique Honeywell Turbo products
• Work with customers, both external and internal, to establish solid roadmaps to transition the project to production engineering.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• B.S. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent
• 5 or more years work experience developing mechanical devices/components/systems

Additional Qualifications:
• Technical expertise (M.S., PhD or work experience) in some facet of engineering related to turbochargers — turbomachinery, internal combustion engines, aerodynamics, rotordynamics, thermo-mechanical analysis, turbocharger matching/performance simulation
• Work experience developing products in the automotive, aerospace or power generation industries
• Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and turbochargers
• Strong bias for action
• Ability to motivate people without direct control
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of cultures and disciplines
