Senior/Lead C++ Engineer – Real-Time Linux Systems
Must-have skills & experience
Area Requirements
Core development• 10+ years of professional C++ (modern C++11/14/17) in performance-critical, real-time environments• Expert knowledge of Linux (Debian and/or Red Hat families)
Real-time & timing• Design and optimisation of hard/soft real-time applications• System-clock disciplining with 1 PPS, PTP, NTP or GNSS sources
Performance optimisation• Low-latency design, CPU-load reduction, memory-footprint tuning
Networking• Strong TCP/IP stack familiarity, packet-level debugging with Wireshark (including plug-in installation & use)
Tooling & workflow• GitLab (repos, Merge Requests, branching strategy)• CMake-based build systems; packaging for major Linux distros• GitLab CI/CD pipelines & Docker-based build/test stages• Unit-testing frameworks and coverage analysis
Language• Clear, technical English (written & spoken)
Desirable / nice-to-have
Digital-TV domain knowledge: MPEG-TS, PSI/SI tables, BBF, DVB-T2.
Telecommunications or mobile-network experience. SNMP integration and management.
Practical exposure to AI/ML integration within C++ services.
Role focus
Lead a small team (<5 programmers) delivering high-reliability, real-time C++ services on Linux. You will set coding standards, review critical paths, drive performance profiling, and own the CI/CD flow that keeps our releases fast and repeatable.
