Lean Specialist

This is a newly created position for a person with experience in automotive production, preferably OEM or Tier 1. The employee will be reporting to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for updating and improving the current lean methodology, as well as the introduction of new lean standards applied in production (including maintenance) and logistical processes. The successful candidate will work closely with Production and Quality Departments to ensure PFMEAs and other documentation are to the required standard.

Key Areas of Responsibility :

• Management of optimization projects
• Continuous improvement of production and logistics processes
• Evaluation and introduction of improvement proposals from employees
• Develop proposals for, and implementation of, actions leading to cost reduction
• Introduction and training of new processes to employees
• Leading of Kaizen events
• Implementation of new operations/quality standards to production including preparation of relevant documentation
• Revision of current production standards, works instructions, visual instruction and their regular updating

Requirements

• University degree with min 3 years. High School degree with min of 5 years’ working experience in lean management, quality or production, preferably in automotive metal processing business
• Knowledge of lean philosophy and lean production methodology (eg. 5S, SMED, VSM, etc.) with proven track of their implementation and maintenance
• Good knowledge of automotive standards (IATF, VDA etc.) with experience in creating and maintaining PFMEA.
• Communicative knowledge of English language (necessity to communicate with native speakers in UK)
