Core Equipment Engineering (CEE), formerly known as GEEI is mainly an internal facing function that interacts with Verizon employees and has US Domestic and International responsibility for the detailed engineering, Field Operations, implementation engineering and network equipment inventory for networks supporting Public and Private IP, Converged Packet Access (CPA), Voice over IP (VOIP), Internal Data Network (IDN), FIOS TV, IPTV, and Data Centers.- perform Equipment Engineering for layer one and layer two FiOS network build projects in the U.S.A. - create detailed technical instructions (I-SPECs = Install Specifications) and create BOMs (Bill of Material) for equipment/cables/hardware orders.- engineering deliverables will include but not be limited to project-specific installation instructions, engineering database (ICON & CCP = Capacity Creation Project) updates, AutoCAD drawing/updates, card/port assignments /requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).- interface with Operations and Implementation Organization to obtain critical pre-engineering information. All engineering documentation needs to be accurate and up-to-date for use by Install, Test, Implementation, Operations, Provisioning, Planning, Network Capacity Management, Supply Management, and Audit groups.- engineer will manage multiple projects, provide timely reporting, and effectively coordinate with Planning, Vendor Technical Management, Project / Program Management organizations, and Supply Chain Management.- project tasks are managed through conference calls, e-mail communication, document/drawing creation and extensive record keeping.
