Job description, responsibilities and duties
For our client, a leader in several industries we are currently looking for a new colleague who will be responsible for maintaining a custom Linux distribution for customized products for their European Competence and R+D Center in Prague.
Your scope of work will be:
• creating and preparing an own Linux distribution (a bootable image)
• configuring and compiling the Linux kernel
• package management and updating
• creating new Linux layers/classes/recipes
• maintaining and improving existing and legacy scripts based on new requirements or new bugs
• collaboration on DevOps activities (CI/CD, Test Automation)

Language skills
English - Upper intermediate (B2)
Personality requirements and skills
You should have these skills and experiencies:
• knowledge of Bash and/or Python scripting language
• experience with bootloaders - unit scripts, SystemV, eventually Systemd
• knowledge of creating, managing and optimizing partitions (dd, fdisk, parted, kpartx, ...)
• experience with network configuration, remote access (SSH) and certificate management
• experience with compilers (gcc, clang)
• knowledge of Bash and/or Python scripting language
