Job description, responsibilities and duties

At Merck, we are looking for a new colleague (m/w) to join the compliance international team.

You will be responsible for performing daily transaction activities on GTS (Global Trade System) and releasing blocked sales orders based on available company license/customer license and documentation.

- You will be doing compliance review and classification of new products on GTS, sanction party screening, daily review of excise goods (Ethanol and mineral oil), authority reporting (excise duty report, nuclear product sales, precursors of drugs and chemical weapons, etc.).
- You will be responsible for regulatory surveillance of local trade compliance regulation, active communication with local authorities, and supporting internal audits and audits from authorities.

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and Slovak - Proficiency (C2)

Personality requirements and skills

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with strong chemistry background (or similar).
- Several years (ideally 3-5) of trade compliance experience.
- Fluent English and Slovak/Czech language is a must (communicative level of Hungarian language would be an advantage).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP Systems (SAP Global Trade Services is a great advantage).
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and manage own tasks/projects.
- Great negotiation and communication skills.
- Life Science or Chemical industry knowledge is preferred.
