Job description, responsibilities and duties

At Merck, we are looking for a consultant in the area of cyber security for a new global team.

As a Penetration Tester, a highly skilled security specialist:
• You will ensure that those without authorization cannot access an organization’s data.
• You will try to hack into networks to identify potential vulnerabilities in the system.
• You will try to exploit the found vulnerabilities if the penetration testing activity requires it and will help application teams in proposing solutions to remediate findings.
• You will provide recommendations for risk mitigation and vulnerability remediation and conduct penetration tests according to established security standards. You will report directly to the Head of Security Operations inside the CISO Organization.

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

• Knowledge of web services and operating systems and use of scripting languages (Bash, AWK, Python, Perl), Web vulnerability scanners, Password auditing, Packet sniffers, and Encryption tools.

• Previous experience as a penetration tester is required.

• Advanced level of English.

• Flexibility to work on weekends or night shifts if it is required by the penetration test.

• Communication skills, strong collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work together with other professionals from other information security fields.
