Manufacturing Engineering Manager Europe (m/f/d)

Our client is one of the leading tier 1 suppliers in the automotive industry. The main focus is on innovative thermal and energy management solutions with a significant footprint in Germany and the Czech Republic.

The company is striving for excellence in any respect and preparing their plants for further growth especially coming from business with the leading German OEMs.

In that context, we want to fill the position of the newly established Manufacturing Engineering Manager Europe.

Scope of responsibilities

• Support customer quotes with initial ME input within Europe
• Provide strategic make-versus-buy studies
• Investigate and recommend plant expansion or green field plant decisions
• Deliver feasibility studies for new products and processes
• Lead advanced manufacturing technology development activities
• Support new program development processes through detailed ‘4M development’ (material, machine, method, man) analysis including product design reviews with R&D, process optimization activities, PV test sample and verification support, pilot and pre-SOP events as well as customer audit (R&R, FPSC, etc.) support
• Support safe launch activities
• Lead manufacturing process optimization activities by identifying, sharing and implementation of best manufacturing practice and align with global standards
• Follow up with mass production issues
• Review plant KPI like LOH, scrap, CAPEX and work with plant management on improvement plans
• Review business plan forecasts including capacity reviews and operation planning to identify cost saving opportunities together with plant management
• Support M&A activities and footprint strategies within the region
• Support the integration of new production sites into the company systems organization

Role requirements

• Distinct knowledge in the manufacturing engineering and advanced manufacturing engineering processes
• Planning and execution skills
• Experience in project management
• Good communication and team management skills
• Used to work in a global matrix organization with remote leadership
• Engineering background with experience in the automotive industry as well as in mass production processes
• Based in Germany, the Netherlands or the Czech Republic and ready to travel 30+ % of working time mainly within Europe
• Fluent in business English

Organization

• Position will report directly to the Global Manufacturing Engineering Lead
• Close cooperation with the European plant management teams and the global manufacturing engineering team
• Close cooperation with connected functions like R&D, Strategy & Planning, Commercial, Program Management, etc.
• CZK 100.000 – 120.000/month + 20% bonus
