Science communicator/ Lab head

We are looking for someone who:
Science Communicator:
Loves science
The presenter is distinguished by broad scientific and general erudition, enthusiasm for science and its popularization

Can work with an audience
There will be more than 50 people listening to you and asking questions. You should be able to interact with them

Is able to take responsibility
Our project employs people who are able to set the tasks and solve it, follow deadlines, make decisions, and be effective as a member of the team

Is well educated
All the participants of Sciencely Prague should be graduates of Natural Sciences, Technology, Medicine or Engineering

Speaks Czech and English
Activities will take place in Czech, communication with colleagues from other countries will be in English
Briefly, what to do:
You will work 1 or 2 weekends per month. This includes entire Saturday and Sunday.
We are a scientific project for children and their parents. While children are busy making experiments, their parents are invited to a science lecture. You will be the lecturer.
You will be lecturing adult audience on scientific topics. It should be both scientifically accurate and fun. It shall not be a lecture in its standard meaning, but more of a scientific stand up performance. The best is a lecture given by Giulia Enders. If you can give lectures like this - you got this job. We have the scripts for all of our lectures.

Lab head:
We are looking for a student undertaking a bachelor/master’s degree in physics/chemistry/biology/medicine who can easily explain their thesis to a kid or an adult. Because this job is all about explaining how science works. We are organizing master-classes in chemistry, biology, medicine and physics. You have to know how to explain all this stuff both scientifically accurate and easy to understand.

Science communicator:
Payment conditions: 8000 CZK/weekend (Saturday and Sunday)

Lab head:
1. 5000 CZK/weekend for a lab lead and 2500 CZK/weekend for an assistant. Usually we have 1-2 events per month.
2. Working hours - 1-2 weekends per month. Each weekend includes set-up stage which is usually on Friday and takes approximately 3-4 hours.
