Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
● Developing algorithms for retrieval, ingest and analysis of geostationary satellite imagery and for modelling of solar irradiance based on satellite and other data
● Participating in an upcoming applied research project focused on improving our nowcasting service
● Contributing to an overall improvement of quality, timeliness, resilience and other aspects of the models and services derived from satellite data
● Testing, deployment and monitoring of operational software/services
● Code and data maintenance, management
● Cooperation with other team members in the spirit of consistent and agile development
● Stay up to date on trends in the field and company priorities

● Solid programming capabilities in Python, writing clean and structured code
● Degree and/or relevant work experience in the Geo/Earth/Planetary sciences
(such as remote sensing, atmospheric science, meteorology)
● Solid experience with spatio-temporal array data manipulation (e.g. NumPy)
● Some experience with bash / Linux terminal
● Good grasp for detail, diligence and accomplishment
● Innovative thinking, forward looking, team spirit, focus on customer
● English (at least professional working proficiency, both written and spoken)
