Job description, responsibilities and duties

Independently solve incidents and change management ticket, in order to maintain service to customers according to given internal processes.
- 2nd and 3rd level support for Linux servers.

Accountabilities
- installation and operation of Linux based systems (Red Hat and Suse) based on
customer and operational needs,
- ensure 2nd and 3rd level support to our customers, for example bug fixing,
maintenance, SW installation and configuration,
- server patching,
- investigate the root cause of incidents and initiate actions to improve or correct
the situation,
- opening external vendor tickets (cases) and coordinating external vendor
engineers, solving HW problems with vendor support,
- participate on regular and/or irregular communication with colleagues in an
international environment to ensure operational goals,
- train and participate on education of other employees,
- create and maintain documentation.

Certificate:
- Valid certification in Linux is an advantage.

IT Technical Skills:
- IT/ PC literacy - Expert- Years of experience - 2.
- Hardware/ Software overview - Advanced.
- Core platform knowledge - Advanced.

Soft skills:

- analytical thinking - advanced,

- training and mentoring - advanced,
- presentation skills - intermediate.

Other criteria or requirements:
At least two years of experience with Linux/Solaris.
Basic overview of related technologies like storage, network, virtualisation.
Overview of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.

Possible specialisation (optional for recruitment reasons), participation on on-call duties, independent solving and troubleshooting of incidents and errors within defined expertise.
