Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are looking for Big Data Operations specialist.
You will operate, maintain, install and upgrade client´s tools on his Cloudera Hadoop Linux based systems. This is an ideal position for someone, who is already a Unix / Linux admin or has Unix/ Bash in-depth knowledge, and would like to work in the Big Data area.
Responsibilities:
• Operations + monitoring (making sure everything is running), installing, configuring and upgrading the current tools stack
• Unix/ Linux administration
• Red Hat Linux system administration, OS upgrades, troubleshooting problems
• Preparation of the environments for the software upgrades
• Communicating with the other operations team in Slovakia (email communication, creating change requests)
• Using Big Data tools (based on Cloudera Hadoop)

Personality requirements and skills
• IT-related bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Ideally two years of proven technical expertise in Unix/Bash
• Solid knowledge of IP networks and protocols (DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SNMP)
• Preferred experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS), MySQL
• Technical environment (knowledge of the tools below not required):
- Apache Airflow, Apache Superset, Tomcat/GUI Java apps, GITLab, MariaDB, RStudio, Jupyter, mlflow, Redis, H2O, and the whole Cloudera Hadoop stack, in future also Jenkins and tools around CI/CD
- Apache Nifi, Kafka, GITLab, Kibana, Elastic Search, and the whole Cloudera Hadoop stack
• We welcome all your ability and enthusiasm to learn and become a professional in the Big Data department
• Fluent spoken English, German appreciated
• Ideally two years of proven technical expertise in Unix/Bash
