We are looking for a new software development engineer colleague to join our Online Analytics team, focusing on development in pySpark for online business analytics in UK and Ireland.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining ETL processes and providing data to stakeholders on both the Hadoop platform and the newly adopted Kubernetes platform. You will support our stakeholders in data analysis and contribute to the development of new enhancements (metrics, KPIs, reports, etc.) and work with them to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.

As a member of the DevOps team, you will monitor (Splunk, Zendesk, internal DQ software) and support deployed code, troubleshoot existing issues, analyze issues and perform bug fixes. You will play a key role in improving our workflows and actively improving our business insights.

What will you need?

  • Knowledge of SQL, pySpark, Hive, Python and overview of what BigData development is about
  • Experience with k8s is welcome, but not mandatory
  • Able to work effectively in DevOps model
  • You don't need to be expert in Linux and bash, but we're using it on our servers and scripting sometimes. Thus basic knowledge and at least orientation you should have.
  • Fundamental experience of Git/GitHub to version our code. We have implemented CI/CD process with all the source in GitHub and behave like GitOps.
  • Optimizing and tunning the applications in pySpark is a strong plus.

Personal skills:

  • Written and spoken English is a must for daily job
  • Ability to learn fast - we will lead you, help you to understand of the processes, but you must want to learn
  • Analytical skills - we expect you to analyze business requests and define a way how to do it
  • Team player - no one know everything and you must be a team player
