SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER II / DC (Hybrid)

We are a team that provides IT support to distribution centres in the form of an 2nd level of support, we implement regional projects in a local environment, respond to requirements for functionality and operation of IT technologies. At the same time, we also provide third level IT support to the systems/applications of distribution centres in Central Europe. We work on regional projects and their implementation, we respond to international requirements for the functionality and operation of IT technologies.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

• You will be part of the Tesco Technology Global team responsible for development and support of Transport Intranet portal used in distribution centres
• You will support existing application and implement new requirements from business stakeholders
• As we're operating in DevOps mode, you will support deployed code, bug fixing and issue analyses
• You will be part of the agile development team - working with tools like GitHub, Jira, Zendesk, Snyk, SonarQube & others
• You will be working in a country context and communicate with key business stakeholders and users

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW?

MUST HAVE:

• Good knowledge of PHP + MySQL
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript
• Good knowledge of web development and design
• Experience with Git/GitHub to version our code
• Able to analyse and review code
• Able to work independently

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with CI/CD pipeline
• Experience with security tools like Snyk or SonarQube
• GitHub Actions
• Basic experience with MariaDB administration
• Basic experience with Apache setup and administration

PERSONAL SKILLS:

• Advanced level of written and spoken Czech/Slovak is a must for daily job
• Advanced level of written and spoken English is expected for this job
• Ability to learn fast - we will lead you, help you to understand of the processes but you must want to learn
• Analytical skills - we expect you to analyse business requests and define a way how to do it
• Team player - no one know everything and you must be a team player
