Senior UI Developer

UpStart Commerce is a startup focused on building the next generation of commerce and retail platforms. The technology is based on reactive design principles & a micro-services based architecture exposing RESTful services. Our Consumer, Merchant and Service Agent facing applications are built on industry leading JS frameworks. Platform will be deployed on GCP leveraging Kubernetes.

The current job offering is for a web applications developer who is proficient with Vue.js & comfortable with React.js/Angular.js. Your primary focus will be on developing UI components and implementing them using modern workflows. You will ensure that these components and the overall applications are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the mobile/web team, working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and maintainable well-structured code is important.

Responsibilities
• Work with UX designers and team to push an idea from innovation to deployment with minimal supervision
• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Break down high level requirements into more detailed requirements, and then scoping and formulating execution plans with team
Desired Skills
• 5+ years of software development experience and B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience serving as a Senior UI Developer of an engineering team
• Experience implementing high quality HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS
• Expert level – Vue.js & Intermediate level – Angular.js or React.js
• Deep knowledge of interacting with RESTful APIs as the data source for Vue.js, React.js & Angular.js web apps
• Experience with DOM manipulation, JSON, Flexible UI templates and Responsive designs
• Experience with automated testing tools
• Testing cross - browser, cross - platform, and/ or cross - device compatibility for inconsistencies.
• Experience with page performance optimization
• Experience with source control tools (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub)
• Familiar with Scrum or other agile methodologies
