Amazon’s OpsTechIT L3 team is seeking a pioneer to help build a world class support infrastructure for our fulfillment teams across the globe. Your peers will be systems, network and software engineers working to make the technology that supports our Fulfillment Centers and Transportation sites simple and efficient. In our day-to-day work we focus on automation of complex tasks to allow our business to scale with customer demand.

Overview:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a team responsible for supporting a complex, highly distributed global infrastructure and developing tools to enable our team and the customer to resolve issues efficiently. Additionally, you will focus on the automation of repeatable tasks with the ultimate goal of developing self-healing solutions. The solutions developed with your team will help scale out the technical support to keep pace with Amazon’s explosive growth.

· Masters in CS or related degree (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
· Experience with agile (including successful agile transformations) or similar methodologies for continuous development of product and technology
· An inspirational technical leader with a high emotional intelligence who sets high and exacting standards and demands the best work of their team
· Must be willing to work on a team whose on-call supports 24x7 operations outside of normal business hours, with ability to drive into workplace for critical events/needs.
· Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.
· Experience delivering solutions at scale based on a variety of AWS services (EC2, S3, ASG, EBS, ELB, etc.)
· Experience with capacity planning and performance engineering
· Experience with distributed operational health and performance monitoring systems.
· Experience designing and/or implementing automated software testing, deployment and performance analysis systems
· Experience developing or furthering existing application and system management tools and processes that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency
· Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive
· Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.
· Ability to retain composure under stressful conditions, communicate effectively with a wide array of individuals at Amazon, and get the right things done.
