Full Stack Developer (Microservices / Networking)

A good candidate would be a full stack software developer, happy working with different languages and databases as well as being comfortable with Linux and other platforms used for the deployment and hosting of microservices. A successful candidate will join a small DevOps team responsible for producing and maintaining software that aids Network Operations in meeting it’s goals and responsibilities. Improving network reliability, aiding in technology insertion, automating manual processes and more. A successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to continuously learn in order to deliver and support effective solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Adapting existing and creating new Perl scripts or Java programs to deal with tasks such as:
API creation and testing
Data abstraction, with heavy use of Perl's REGEX engine
Database Interactions
- Using CQL (Cassandra Query Language, much like SQL) to query data
- Support/Troubleshoot existing Perl based scripts
For example analyzing the results of the network change performed by a
Perl Script to see if any follow up work is required.
- Using JavaScript to manipulate data and workflows (within node-red)
- API creation, testing and troubleshooting, both SOAP WS and REST
- Working with Jenkins jobs for CD/CI purposes
- Supporting, Troubleshooting and creating microservices
Docker Swarm based
Includes microservices written in Java, Node-Red, Perl and Python
- Working with code that interacts with Network devices, so a good understanding of how large scale Networks operate is beneficial.

Key Competencies and Skills:
- Good programming language skills in at least 2 of the following: Perl, Python, Java , JavaScript, GoLang
- Experience in these areas: API, Jenkins, Docker, Linux
- Solid understanding of Networking (Layer 2,3 protocols)
- MicroServices
- Working with databases - SQL, NoSQL
