Job description, responsibilities and duties

Perform, coordinate and improve most complex activities (3rd level environment) needed to provide IT services and the supporting infrastructure in order to fulfill relevant KPI’s. Plan, implement and maintain a stable technical infrastructure to support organization’s business processes. Identify weaknesses in used processes and eliminate them following industry and internal standards.

Accountabilities
• As „Senior AIX Engineer“, you are an expert on AIX operating systems und have a good knowledge about latest developments in the area of Hyperconverged Infrastructures (HCI) for private cloud platforms. Within this position, you develop the private cloud offering of T-Systems in an agile and dynamic environment based on auf latest technologies.
• Development of the Private Cloud Platform of T-Systems based on market trends and customer demands by using agiler method in close collaboration with the operations team (DevOps):
• Create and implement technical concepts for AIX images for the Private Cloud platform based on customer demands in close collaboration with the operations teams
• Integration and development of AIX images and act as 3rd level support on operations issues / major incidents
• Technical and organizational collaboration with relevant stakeholder
• Build of prototypes and conduct Proof-Of-Concepts
• You are excited to work both conceptual and hands-on with the technology
• You work in areas of technology with specialists of the cloud platform teams and other stakeholders such as compliance, Product Management, Portfolio,
• You work closely with the architects and are trustful advisor for technology related topics in the area of AIX operating systems and IBM Power architectures

Personality requirements and skills

• Excellent knowledge of AIX operating systems, especially on configuration, hardening, live patching, and distribution of system images
• Very good knowledge of IBM power architecture
• Good knowledge of Hyperconverged Infrastructures (HCI) as well as good knowledge about network and storage technologies
• Strong experience in the development and documentation of technical concepts
• Good knowledge in agile development methodologies and experience in DevOps models for cloud platforms (DevOps, CI/CD, CT)
• Experience with modern collaboration tools in an agile environment (e.g. GitHub, JIRA, Confluence)
• Very good ITIL skills, i.e. in Incident- and Problem management
• High motivation, flexibility and resilience
• Goal-oriented attitude with good analytic, conceptual and structured way of thinking
• Very high team and communication skills as well as self-dependent and responsible way for work
• Willingness to support on-call duty
• Experience to work in an international enterprise beneficial
