Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Database creation, configuration, archiving, upgrades/migrations
- DB Security Model (Authentication, Authority)
- DB monitoring (Database Snapshots and event monitor)
- Database backup/restore
- Resolving locks and deadlocks
- Analyzing and recommending performance enhancements in database design, queries and setup based on requirements identified from analyzing department applications, programming, and operations
- Maintaining database performance by advising changes in database configuration; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products
- Preparing developers by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems related to databases
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
