EHS Manager

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for leading, setting and embedding a world class safety culture within the Chomutov location, focusing on continuous improvement whilst ensuring that all company, country and European safety and environmental standards, systems and legislative requirements are adhered to.


Job Responsibilities:

• Leads and guides all EHS initiatives within the location
• Responsible for the management system certifications within the location of ISO14001
and ISO45001.
• Responsible for ensuring the deployment of Corporate Expectations and Initiatives
across the location and provide support to the operating divisions to meet Group
and division EHS expectations
• Develop, implement and maintain the location site EHS plan coordinating with all stakeholders
• Ensure that effective safety, environmental and energy training is provided to all employees
and develop training for new employees and plans for those employees with specific
EHS responsibilities at all levels across the organisation
• Leads and manages an EHS corrective action program which would include EHS audits,
regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, customer EHS audits and other assessments
that identify EHS issues that require corrective action
• Leads and manages the EHS program for change which includes new processes,
equipment, materials and people
• Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting manufacturing
goals, minimizing business interruption risk due to noncompliance, and maintaining a safe,
accident free workplace;
• Leads and manages a resource conservation program which will include but not be limited
to energy use, water use and waste generated from production.
• Ensure employee involvement through the promotion and achievement of safe
and healthy conditions; effective communication and the provision of high quality training
• Provide advice, guidance and direction to all managers and employees
on relevant environmental, health, safety & energy matters with recommendations/actions
for improvements
• Liaise with and provide support, data and information as required for all external bodies
and government agencies on EHS matters
• Ensure robust contractor controls and clear auditing programmes are in place.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Min. 10 years of experience in EHS or Facility Management
• High school or University degree technical
• Communicative English
• Technically oriented
• Systematic thinking
• Skilled in leadership, communication, organizational skills
• Customer oriented
